Undergraduate Student Research
Scientific research is an integral part of the TCU experience. BS Chemistry and Biochemistry majors take at least three credit-hours of Undergraduate Research or Senior Honors Research during their junior or senior years. Research projects may last from 6 months to 2 years, and focus on research in a particular faculty member’s lab.
Many of our faculty are funded by external research grants. Other funds come from the TCU College of Science & Engineering Research Center. Most undergraduates present posters of their work at TCU’s spring Student Research Symposium.
Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Research
Research is an integral part of the Chemistry & Biochemistry Ph.D. program. The Department’s graduate students, postdocs, and faculty collectively publish over 40 peer-reviewed papers per year. Graduate students and postdocs regularly present their research at regional and national meetings.
